...Write a blog post again? Yes, actually you can, even though perhaps it feels as though your life is too messed up to even put words into logical phrases. It would quite honestly be good for your mind to explore and analyze your thoughts and lay them out creatively. Do it. Besides, it goes along with something you heard recently about how you can embrace your femininity by doing something creative to feed your soul.
...Forget about it all? Depends. Are you trying to protect yourself? Yes? Did you know that in reality you are 'just simply' nursing your wounds and/or adding to them? Truth hurts, but you can't forget about it. Face it straight on. Like a ghastly wound, it may make you cringe and wish to look away, but gently and firmly clean out the junk and apply the dressing required for healing. In other words, spill out your pain and ugly cry if you need to, then go to battle against the thought processes that are feeding you lies. Lean into the truths about God, yourself, and the ones you love. Forgiveness has room then and forgetting is irrelevant.
...Be diligent? I mean, how simple is it to do what you know to do? Put the phone down. Keep the house tidy. Have your devotions. Keep up the budget. Make the bed every morning. Workout. Make sure supper is ready on time. The instructions are simple, indeed. But simple has never meant easy. In fact, more often than not, the very simplest tasks and deeds are the very hardest to carry out with diligence. The battle against self and pride and the devil requires no special skills or tactics, but firm resolution and perseverance and reliance on grace from on high. Perhaps the main problem is that weapon which was last mentioned often gets stuck there--at the last--and if you'd put it first, would you not always win?
...Be vulnerable? Going to just throw another tough one out there, huh? You don't need a psychology degree in order to bare your heart and mind to another person who loves you. That person really does have your best in mind and he/she won't love you any less for seeing the ugliness you've been keeping behind lock and key.
However, simplicity is relative, is it not? The things you do to simplify your life may not align with Helen's way. You look on enviously at Karla's seemingly simple existence, when you have no way of knowing what she may be going through in her marriage or with her family... There is no end to variables with this subject.
And so one more question:
...Be a Servant of Christ? Give with His gifts. Work with His strength. Defend with His righteousness. Forgive with His grace. Love with His love.
You can just simply love who God created you to be and embrace the journey He's laid out before you.
You can simply, love life.
Beautifully written and just exactly what I needed to read.
