A Soup Kind of Day

According to statistics, if your day falls into any two of these descriptions, its probably a good day to have soup. (Statistics source unknown)

  • The weather is below 70 degrees F.

  • Leaves are falling thickly; they are no match for blustery wind.

  • You have a cruddy head cold.

  • The woodstove has been kept stoked for at least half the day.

  • It's mid-October.

In my case, all of the above. And my husband was working not more than twelve minutes away and needed lunch. I'll attach the recipe I used for a savory, steamy Zuppa Toscana that we both felt was hearty, warming, and very delicious.
